The Tent Factory President, John Tokar, is an award winning event producer having worked with Fortune 500 companies such as, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, The US Army, Toyota, and Proctor & Gamble. His professionalism and expertise has transcended to The Tent Factory and its clients here in South Carolina. The Tent Factory's dedicated team of event professionals will meet each and every challenge each client brings in virtually any circumstance.

About John

John Tokar, is the President/Owner of The Tent Factory, a full service event rental and production company. In 1992, he began his event life in Orlando, Florida as a Construction Consultant for a local Party Rental company. After only 8 months, the president of a top Event Management firm approached him to direct a Health and Fitness Tour. The tour visited college campuses nationwide and was sponsored by Chrysler Corporation. In 1996, he was invited to serve as Special Events Director at the company's corporate office in New Jersey for the company's Chrysler account. His first project Jeep 101, a consumer marketing off road driving experience, visited 20 markets nationwide and was overwhelmingly successful with over 10,000 test drives! The tour's success brought several projects to the company including Route 2002, An American Road Trip and The Art of Driving, These events won several awards in the event industry including "Best Consumer Marketing Event" over $10,000,000. Insistence for perfection, leadership, and integrity resulted in promotion to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2000. After several years and the insistence of many clients, he decided to pursue his dream. The Tent Factory!

How we Operate

The Tent Factory team begins the production process for an event when the Creative Team sits and meets with a client to collectively find out exactly what each events needs are. How many guests? Tent Requirements? Staging, Lighting, Climate Control, Linens and many more.

Many clients don't realize the potential each event has. Our Creative Team's experience and creativity often results in a fantastic affair the client never dreamed of. From this first meeting, to the actual event, The Tent Factory's goal is for the client to have the comfort knowing that each and every detail is accounted for.

The Tent Factory team will prepare a proposal for the entire event and based on the clients review make the appropriate adjustments.

Once a client receives the proposal, The Tent Factory team meets to discuss the elements and, upon receiving feedback, make appropriate changes. Once all elements are agreed upon, the event goes to contract and the client is asked for a deposit. The remainder of the contracted amount is typically due on the day of the event.

During The Tent Factory's 16 years of event experience we've complied a database of preferred vendors in the event industry's many categories such as Catering, Landscape Design, Floral, Power Distribution, Entertainment, Climate Control and Lighting Design. With The Tent Factory's extensive inventory plus its vendor database, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.
